This wizard will allow you to create a DVD from one or more DVD compatible MPEG-2 files. It is designed to be very easy to use. All you need to do is add one or multiple files to the playlist and answer the questions that follow.
You can add a menu that will contain animated thumbnails of the files in the playlist. Creating a menu is optional.

KDE DVDAuthor Wizard version 1.4.6 is a small bugfix release. The most important fix is that the 'Check Compatibility' button will now also work with the latest dvdauthor versions. Bleeding edge lovers should be happy again. :)

As Kommander appears to be a bit buggy on recent Ubuntu Linux releases, the KDE DVDAuthor Wizard stopped working on Ubuntu. Many users have reported that the 'Add to List' button does not do anything. Thanks to Harry van der Wolf and Kommander developer Eric Laffoon, this issue has been resolved. Please send these guys a box of cookies, they deserve it! So, version 1.4.5 of KDE DVDAuthor Wizard can now be enjoyed by Ubuntu Linux users too.

Version 1.4.4 is here, and it adds support for DVDAuthor 0.6.14. It seems some Linux distributions included DVDAuthor 0.6.14 long before my distro did. So, it took some time for mee to catch up. Anyways, DVD Author Wizard 1.4.4 supports all currently known versions now. Have fun.

Version 1.4.3 of KDE DVDAuthor Wizard has been released. The ImageMagick developers have once more broken backward compatibility in their 6.3 release, which in turn breaks DVDAuthor Wizard. Thanks a lot.
Fixing DVDAuthor Wizard was not trivial, so it took a while. Version 1.4.3 now works well with ImageMagick 6.2 and 6.3.

The 'Check Compatibility' button in version 1.4.1 was not working for everyone. This release should fix the problem. Also, DVDAuthor Wizard can now get chapter information from an DVDAuthor XML file. This is quite convenient for users of Kino, as Kino can generate these XML files for you while encoding DV to MPEG. This feature was added by a patch by Randy Pearson. Thanks a lot!

A new release of DVDAuthor Wizard has been uploaded. Version 1.4.0 contains a number of big improvements with respect to rendering menu titles. Just look at the changelog for details. Special thanks goes to Thomas Kohler for testing this release.

Tadaaa! DVDAuthorWizard version 1.3.0 is ready. Some much requested features have made it into this release, like skipping the first few seconds of the animated thumbnails and the possibility to manually tweak the generated XML file.
Also, the directory structure has been changed, which should allow distro maintainers to create proper RPM/DEB/Ebuild/... packages much easier.

Some fonts would not be displayed in the menu font selection page. The new 1.2.1 release of KDE DVDAuthor Wizard fixes this issue.

Version 1.2 of KDE DVDAuthor Wizard has been released. The biggest change is that MPlayer is no longer a dependency of the wizard. It now uses Transcode to extract frames from the MPEG files.
Also, the script has been cleaned up, making it much easier to read, understand and customize.

KDE DVDAuthor Wizard version 1.1 was released a few minutes ago. It features a possibility to define chapters within each MPEG file in the playlist. This will be most convenient to users of MiniDV Assembler. The latest release of MiniDV Assembler generates chapter definitions for you, which will be picked up automatically by the KDE DVDAuthor Wizard. Of course, you can also manually create your own chapter definitions.

Due to several reports of people having problems using unstable BASH 3.1, KDE DVD Authoring wizard has added detection of this BASH version and ask the user to downgrade in case of problems. The new version can be found here.

Well, I really can't keep up with myself.. In the mean time there have been two updates of KDE DVD Authoring Wizard. And.. This little piece of software has made it to the fifth highest rated application on the KDE software repository. I guess some people are having fun using it.. :)
